Vice President – Compliance & AML/CFT – Real Estate Investment – Luxembourg
We are currently looking for a VP level Compliance & AML/CFT expert to join a real estate investment company with a global footprint. As the business continues to draw in funds through Luxembourg from across the globe they have an immediate and urgent need to fill this position with the following responsibilities:
- Maintaining oversight of the existing regulated and unregulated fund portfolio and carrying out analysis of new fund products providing advice to the business on regulatory and licensing issues.
- Act as Conducting Officer for Compliance, Complaints and AML/CFT and undertake the day-to-day compliance oversight of the AIFM business in Luxembourg to ensure that it is in accordance with the applicable CSSF regulations, ESMA guidance and AIFMD.
- Regulatory liaison to the CSSF and other EU branch/subsidiary regulators; coordinator for regulatory inspections and reviews.
- Maintenance of existing licensing permissions including cross border permissions and obtaining new permissions via applications submitted to regulators.
- Educate and train employees in internal and regulatory compliance matters in order to maintain compliance awareness
- Design and implement existing monitoring and oversight programmes and carry out monitoring and controls to establish ongoing compliance with internal policy and regulatory requirements
- Review and approve marketing and fund reporting literature from a compliance viewpoint
- Review and advise on client specific anti-money laundering due diligence specific to counter parties, investors, vendors and other relevant constituents.
- Maintain compliance databases where required, including anti-money laundering, marketing and code of ethics databases
- Collect and collate information required for senior management compliance and anti-money laundering reporting. Prepare and present reports as required
- Participate in the review and update of legal and regulatory documentation
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience
- Knowledge of European financial regulation, investments and financial markets, with a proven experience in a compliance/regulatory, audit, legal or other relevant control function. Focus on real estate or alternatives investment management, and/or private funds management would be beneficial but not essential
- Self-starter and strong team player who is inquisitive and self motivated
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluency in English, proficiency in French and/or German an advantage
- Skilled in using MS software, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Proven analytical and project management skills
- Detail oriented, able to set priorities and complete simultaneous projects
- Good knowledge of regulations and laws, preferably in Luxembourg laws (CSSF) and European AIFMD; familiarity with German BaFin and U.S. SEC an advantage.
