VAT and Tax Compliance and Reporting Specialist

Job Description
We are searching for a Tax Compliance and Tax Reporting Specialist to join this team in Luxembourg on a full-time basis.
Tax Compliance:
- Preparation and assistance with direct and indirect tax compliance for Luxembourg domiciled companies and partnerships of the Group
- Coordination and assistance of foreign tax compliance obligation of Luxembourg domiciled companies
- Communication with Luxembourg tax authorities
- Review of tax assessments, tax advance payments etc. and close communication with responsible accounting teams
Tax Reporting:
- Active support of the accounting and tax reporting team with IFRS tax reporting and Country by Country Reporting (CbCR) / Tax Transparency Report (TTR) as local part of the worldwide Group (Tax) Reporting
Risk Management:
- Identification and assessment of uncertain tax positions, preparation and handling of tax audits regarding topics and controversies in assigned area
- Analysis of tax assets/attributes and development and implementation of measures to increase the underlying value
Key responsibilities
- Provide support and oversight of tax compliance; this will include but not be limited to:
- Preparation of annual corporate income tax returns
- Calculation and review of quarterly and annual tax provision
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Filing of VAT registration/de-registration
- Review and assessment of VAT status
- Review of tax assessments
- Preparation and assistance of foreign withholding tax refunds
- Ensure correct bookings and accruals related to tax
- Transfer pricing review
- Coordination and work with tax advisors and tax authorities
- Provide support to tax manager and lead tax-related projects/ad hoc requests when required (e.g. implementation of ATAD or other new regulations)
- Coordinate and ensure proper tax reporting with the existing reporting tools and based on respective reporting guidelines
Key requirements/skills/experience
- Degree in Tax/Accounting/Finance, ACCA or other professional accounting accreditation is a plus
- 1-2 years of experience (or more) in Luxembourg VAT compliance (ideally also Income tax compliance)
- Basic understanding of LuxGAAP and IFRS and deferred taxes
- Experience with SAP
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- MS-Office and in-depth MS-Excel skills
- Team player and ability to work autonomously
